RYAN'S 1ST SWIM CLASS! *it's only a trial though*

i brought ryan for his 1st ever swim class ALONE!! mummy was supposed to be ard as well but due to some unforseen ridiculous reason (request to apply for childcare leave was turned down cos of contact time), i had the honours to bring my lil boy alone with maximum bonding time!! hehehhe... and of course mummy is still fuming to date and has demanded to bring him swimming this sat! the swim session was organised by aunt ivy aka perper for the 06 babies (trinity, jayden, javier, cayden, dexter & ryan) and it was held at the NTU alumni house over at one-north. it was a breezy afternoon and expectedly the water was *brrrr* cool! had to single-handedly change ryan out of his clothes and into his swimwear and it was no easy feat! aunt ivy offered to help but i insist i was fine (must appear competent!) ryan was rather co-operative and soon after he was ready for his swim! while waiting for aunt lina aka keikei and aunt 'caymom' to arrive, we were told to bring our lil ones to the edge of the pool for some 'warm-up' preps. i was amazed that jayden and trinity were walking on their own already and very fast at that and realised its just that ryan's rather lazy to start doing that now! hmph! the occasional splashing of the 'cool' water was rather enjoying and ryan appeared 'warmed-up' and was ready! when everyone was ready, i realised i was still in my tee & berms! OMG! thank goodness aunt lina's maid was there to help hang on to ryan while i zoomed to the chair and stripped! the entire session was thoroughly enjoyable except for the part where the coach came over to ryan for his turn to get orientated! as usual, due to his high level of stranger anxiety (which was never apparent til a few months back), he wailed and screamed much to my embarrassment! he had to stand out among his peers! hahahahahha.... aunt sally aka sweetpea was busily snapping away while we were 'swimming' and i must say, the pics were great! absolutely priceless!! then came the moment i dread! it's shower time!! i carried ryan to the bathroom, stripped him and tried to rinse off the clorinated water without any soap (since grandma's gona bathe him soon enough when we reach home anyway). as usual, dressing him up was an extremely mind boggling and tedious affair! had to distract him with my car key, his mickey rattler, etc just to put on his romper and shoes! wat a struggle! but i kinda enjoyed it and felt good about it all! alas! i could bring ryan out single-handedly wifout crying for help! hehehhe.... we gave aunt jerene aka missy and javier a lift to holland v before heading for grandma's place! it was truly a great experience and a memorable one too! cant wait for the upcoming MyGym trial at great world this sat!

ryan's teeth update!

woohoo! ryan's 4th tooth is finally sprouting out too!! *jumping for joy* when will his first molar appear?!! my lil monster has been bugging us to feed him whenever we are munching or having our meals!! but at least he's growing very well! hehehe....

RYAN'S FIRST STEPS!!!!

YAHOO!! ryan has finally taken his first few steps on 23rd April 2007!! and that's baby ethan's birth day too!!! he's rather cautious though and would immediately sit on his butt after standing on his own for about 5 secs, sometimes longer. it's such a milestone to witness him walking all by himself!! one of the great rewards & achievements of parenthood! my lil baby boy has finally walked when almost all his peers are already cruising around! hahahha... ryan takes it slow and easy i guess.

his appetite seems to be growing as well. he can't seem to stop munching on bread and the like whenever he sees one lying around. just yesterday when we were visiting baby ethan at thomson medical, he chanced upon a bun lying on the coffee table in the suite which jiujiu had left for him. he immediately went "mum-mum" and walked towards it!! he grabbed it and went chomp chomp all by himself! it was a sight to behold! hahahha gong gong was snapping away while he chomped the bun bit by bit. hahahaha...i couldnt stop laughing!

ryan's first visit to the ZOO!

we brought ryan to the zoo for the very first time on the 3rd of feb 2007!

as usual, he was very "curious aka kapo" as he saw the myriad range of animals. not forgetting the usual pong and greenery. so much has evolved since our last visit half a decade ago! he sat quietly throughout the animal show and took a short nap thereafter. bought an elephant toy for him which he adores to this very day! hahahaha.... it was a great day with superb weather and shall return when he's able to walk well!

It's Ryan's 1st birthday celebrations! Mummy and Daddy organised a massive celebration for more than 100pax at Cashew Heights function hall on Sat 17th March from 12noon to 3pm for baby Ryan! preparations started like 2 months ago and daddy has been planning, designing and buying stuff! Theme of party: MICKEY MOUSE (since ryan loves him!)

Mummy, daddy and Ryan's godpa left home early to start decorating the hall for the party which started at 12pm! there was so much to put up and ensure that all decor was in place! signages, welcome posters, banners, balloons, goodie bags, setup of tables for cake cutting & presents, etc

100 balloons (red and black, mickey's colors) were ordered from concourse and delivered (thankfully before the guests arrived) Bibik caterers arrived before 12.30pm and the buffet was quickly set up! As the guests slowly streamed in, more and more presents for our precious son were piling up! about 110 guests arrived & everyone commented on the decor and great food! hahahaha....

Ryan was happily zooming around in his walker which we decorated with balloons and a banner. Can tell that Ryan simply enjoyed himself and the attention that was showered on him that afternoon!

Ryan's goodie bag to his friends consisted of a green stuffed snake (from Ikea), some Mickey biscuits (since Mickey was the theme) and a clapper! Attached to each bag was of course, a balloon!

The climax of the party?
The arrival of his 6kg cake, personally delivered by uncle Henry (Bengawan Solo)
It was super HUGE and very beautifully done!!! Cake was designed by Daddy dearest of course! Similar to invite card design.

Cake cutting was carried out at 2.30pm and baby Ryan got a taste of his own birthday cake (vanilla sponge with fresh strawberries) Loads of cake were distributed and we even had to give away some of Ryan's cake coz it was simply TOO MUCH to handle!!! Haha!

Whilst mummy and daddy were impatiently waiting for the caterers to come and collect their stuff, the little prince was sent home by mama and gong gong (mummy's) to be taken care of by mama and gong gong (daddy's)!!! See how important this little boy is!!! Hahaha!

Silly caterers took 2 hours to arrive! Such bad co-ordination! We were really peeved at them for wasting so much of our time!

At home, Ryan had a good sleep and woke up in time to open all his prezzies!!! Received loads of vouchers and angbaos as well! Yahoo!!

upcoming 1st birthday party!

ryan recently celebrated his first ever CNY! he collected lotsa ang paos too! he's still toothless to date and has been rather cranky for the past few days. hopefully his tooth will be out before his first birthday next month!

we have sent out the invites for his party to relatives and frens over CNY. the theme will be mickey mouse since he simply adores it! i will sit down and watch mickey's clubhouse with him every day from 8.30am to 9am and feed him cereal at the same time. will upload his invite soon!

ryan's first haircut!!!!

hey everyone! we just brought ryan for his first haircut since birth!!! i simply refused to trim his hair as i do not want to compromise his good looks! hahahaha.... we checked out the junior league place at paragon but there were too many people so we brought him to jean yip! same stylist as veron's. it was pouring heavily when we walked over to the salon. veron had to hold him while they sat on a chair and Ken (the stylist) started snipping away! my heart pounded heavily as i fear for my son's look! hehehhe.... armed with a videocam in one hand and the camera in the other, i moved around them so that ryan will be distracted and not figet. another female stylist was also playing and talking to ryan as Ken painstakingly tried to trim my lil boy's hair! it was a sight to behold! they commented that ryan was a very good boy as he did not even wail or be terribly agitated in the entire process! instead, he was busily looking around and probably wondered wat ken was doing and was fasinated with ken's huge red comb.

after all was done, as we walked to the car, i was scrutinising ryan's new hairstyle and was grumbling away that his fringe was too short!!! hmph! anyway, veron and mom said he looked very cute and neat. *eyes rolling* after his bath and milk, he drifted off to dreamland!
