SPICY!!!

22nd October 2007

It was a futile attempt once more to wean the rascal off his choo-choot! Ah-ma soaked Ryan's pacifier in chilli padi once more and the result was burning, red lips and lots of crying in addition to screaming!!!

The poor little fellow was tearing like crazy and mummy had to quickly try to soothe him by giving him ice cubes! It was also a form of distraction actually...he had so much fun playing with the cool ice! Of course, he also got easily irritated by the fact that the ice cubes melted pretty quickly and he wasn't able to pick them up so easily when they fell to the ground.

Just look at how red his lips are....my poor little rascal!

"Mmmm...this is cool!!!"

"Hey! Why can't I pick up the ice cube???"

Sigh, I guess I'll have to find another way to wean him off then....

Suggestions, anyone???

Sunday again...

21st October 2007

Sunday morning and we're off to church with ah-ma and gong gong.

Jiu Jiu and even Yi Yi attended the same mass after which the whole family headed to Ave 5 for breakfast.

Well, we were unaware that there was some Community Day going on there and there was a hype with reporters all over!

Why? Our PM Lee was there to grace the occasion! Yup! It was a pretty GRAND celebration with a sort of carnival going on at the cc as well.

Ian and Chrissy got to shake hands with the VIP and Ian seemed pretty pleased about it actually! Hahaha! Such a funny little fellow...went on his own to approach the PM and then he came back to our table and asked if he shook the right person's hand?? Hilarious I tell you!

Anyway, the kids had a fun time (though pretty short) at the carnival and there was even free popcorn! Ah-ma's all time favourite snack so she decided to queue up for it, insisting that she was getting it for Ian...hahaha!

Yup, our rascal got a taste of popcorn as well...just look at the glutton!

Oh, the poor little fellow was terrified of this inflated walking mascot thingy which was like HUGE...there were four of it going around and Ryan was simply frightened of those things! He would run towards me and expect me to carry him while he started to somewhat sob...

Morning over...I brought Ryan to watch his grandparents dance in the evening at Holland...some flea market thingy was being held and mummy's parents were going to line dance as part of entertainment I suppose...

Yup! That's Ryan looking at his grandparents from afar while they dance.

Gong Gong showing off his dance moves...

Ryan with his all time favourite... BALLOON!!!

Daddy's parents are busy again...

20th October 2007

Mummy and ah-ma brought Ryan to Novena church this morning and had breakfast with jiu jiu and family...

Gong Gong wasn't with us because he went to attend the opening ceremony of uncle Albert's new branch of 'Trumpet Praise' at Parkway Parade...

Anyway, mummy decided to bring ah-ma shopping in town since we were so near...

Our buys:

Ah-ma got herself a pair of shoes and mummy got quite a roomy bag from LeSportsac to dump Ryan's stuff when we go out... hhhmmm... I'm sure it'll come in very handy when we travel to HK at the end of the year!

Anyway, I decided to bring Ryan to his other grandparents' house in the evening for them to play with him again and I finally remembered to snap a few pics of the rascal in action with the numerous tennis balls in daddy's room!

I'm guessing his grandparents are tired out by the little one by now! Hahaha!

Dinner with mummy's friends

19th October 2007

Mummy met up with her girl friends this evening for dinner and the little one got to join in as well...

Auntie Gerardine, Huimin and pretty jie jie Nat decided to dine at Din Tai Fung Paragon and Ryan got to have a variety of our food for his supper...well, he already had his dinner at home at around 4plus so yup, this should be considered supper! Haha!

It was really good that jie jie Nat was around as Ryan seemed to be entertained by her and even auntie Gerardine felt that it was good that both of them had each other for company!

Dinner was a little disruptive, all thanks to Ryan, but we coped fine... I think I have auntie Huimin (aka my maid) to thank for helping me out during dinner! Hehehe! She's going to be a fantastic mum, I tell you!

Anyway, it was pretty cute seeing Ryan so attached to his jie jie so quickly at the dinner table...

Why I say attached??

Well, jie jie Nat wanted to go to the toilet during dinner and so on her way out, the little one couldn't bear for her to leave and stretched out his hand and started calling 'Jie Jie!' pretty loudly! Auntie Huimin and I were obviously amused by his actions!

Well, I'm glad that he enjoyed jie jie's company last night!

Auntie Meiling only joined us later and we headed to the NYDC outside the Heeren for some dessert..mmmm...mummy had some brownie freeze thingy was *slurp* super sinful!!!

Yup! Mummy needs to exercise! Sigh...but I wonder if I'll ever be disciplined to even start!

My only form of exercise currently?

SHOPPING!!! Haha! The most enjoyable but most expensive of course!!

I'm pretty sure daddy dreads hearing this word since mummy's really GOOD at her only form of exercise! Hahahahahaha!

Anyway, take a look at the pics I took of the 2 children at the dinner table...

Yup! I'm pretty sure the both of them had a good time last night!

Mummy's mistake!

18th October 2007

Ryan's 19 mths today and mummy just got to tell you something funny which happened last night while he was sleeping...

Mummy woke up in the middle of the night to find Ryan missing from the mattress!!! Hhmmm...where did the rascal go? Hahaha! Apparently, Ryan had rolled off the mattress onto a thinner mattress and seemed pretty comfortable lying on his tummy! Mummy wasn't about to lift him off the bed to move him back onto the mattress in case he awoke and started wailing! So I simply left him as he was and went back to sleep...

Mummy's sleep was obviously pretty shortlived as the little one awoke next to me and wanted his milk feed...sigh! When will he EVER stop needing his 'middle of night' feed??

Ok, what mistake did mummy commit?? Well, in my 8 years of good driving record, I have never EVER had any accident, etc... but today, mummy stupidly scratched the side of the car whilst reversing into a carpark lot at IMM!!! It was a darn SCARY experience as I was seriously at a loss of what to do as the door came into contact with the stupid pillar!!! My heart almost skipped a beat and I thought that was the end!!! Daddy's bound to skin me alive!! Oh dear!

Anyway, I dropped the bombshell on daddy in the evening via skype and he was a little upset but he eventually said 'never mind' and told me to be more careful in future... Whew! I thought he was going to scream and blame me! Thank you hoo-b for not nagging and blaming me! You're the best!!!

Let's check out the damage... not very clear though...

Such a whiny rascal but then...

17th October 2007

It's a Wednesday and mummy's on mc today because of the throbbing headache I've been experiencing on and off for the past few days! Somehow I believe that it might have been migraine because I only feel much better after taking Synflex (med for migraine) as compared to the normal paracetamol!

Anyway, I think Ryan woke up pretty early this morning (maybe ard 6 plus or so?) and walked out of the room on his own to look for his beloved grandparents...mummy, of course, continued to sleep since she was on mc...

According to ah-ma, she told me that gong gong couldn't sleep properly as he kept getting up to check on the rascal in the middle of the night to ensure that he wasn't out of the room and wandering around the house, especially the kitchen! Well, mummy didn't keep the door closed as I didn't switch on the air-con! Poor gong gong! Mummy will resolve to close the door from today onwards then!

Anyway, after breakfast, the rascal fell asleep almost immediately! Who asked him to wake up so early in the morning right? Hehehe!

See the little piggy in his strange sleeping positions...

When he awoke, I played his 'Wheels on the bus' VCD for him and jie jie to watch whilst eating their lunch.

Just look at the boss on his chair...

Oh yeah, why the title 'whiny'? This little monster can seriously whine! And he now does it so automatically by squatting down and then throwing his tantrums if he doesn't get his way or the things he wanted! TERRIBLE I tell you!

He whined over every single thing and ah-ma sometimes would just scold him or brush him off because he can be pretty irritating and loud actually! Sigh...mummy's hoping and praying that Ryan grows out of this whiny mood SOON because she doesn't want to be embarrassed by him whenever they go out!

Anyway, mummy brought Ryan to daddy's parents place for a while at night.

By the time we got there, it was already 8.40pm and it was meant to be a surprise for the grandparents. The both of them were, of course, delighted to see the rascal and decided to entertain them and not have their dinner first. Dinner was actually about to be consumed but I guess the rascal was more precious than dinner then! It had been more than a week since they saw Ryan so hhhmmm.... that should explain their actions?

Ryan had a good time playing with the balls and toys that daddy had in his room (before he moved out) whilst mummy was sitting on the sofa enjoying some 'me' time watching tv! Hahaha! Well, it was obviously time for the grandparents to entertain the rascal right? It would be defeating the purpose if I was the one who kept playing with him, wouldn't it??? Hhhhmmmm??

About 9plus, I told Ryan that I was going home and that he should leave as well but to no avail...he continued playing until I got my in-laws to come out of the room and switch off the light as well in order to indicate that it's time to leave.

Ryan was holding on to a toy as we were about to leave so I told him to return to his grandma. She, of course, said he could bring it home but I declined. Ryan heard me telling him to put it down and he AMAZINGLY, did as was told!! He left it on the tv console and I was EXTREMELY PLEASED with his action!!! I mean, I was expecting his usual whines but NO!!! I hurriedly carried him up and praised him for his good behaviour and as we left the gate, he could bid them farewell as well as blow them kisses!

Hhmm...I'm really proud of my son tonight! He can be such a terror but when he's so sensible, he's REALLY such a DARLING!!!

Animal Kiddy Ride

15th October 2007

It's a Monday and mummy doesn't have to go to school today! Yahoo! It's off in lieu for us so I decided to bring ah-ma to IMM for lunch...

Had a craving for BK so brought her there for her Mushroom Swiss burger which she seldom gets a chance to enjoy! Yummy!

Brought Ryan on this animal kiddy ride which he was looking longingly at while some other children were on it... Daddy always insisted that it's a waste of money so since he isn't around, mummy decided to let Ryan have a go... Hehehe!

Quite a fun ride considering that he actually managed to steer it himself...hehehe! Oh, we sat on a tiger (the only one which was available then) Would have liked to sit on the giraffe but it was taken...sigh

Seems like mummy is the only one looking at the cam!

I seriously believe that Ryan was concentrating on his steering! Ahahaha!

Oh take a look at the two cousins... di di was simply stoning whilst the gor gor was trying to get his attention! Hehe!!

Daddy's away...

13th October 2007

Yup...daddy left for Shanghai this morning and will only be back on the 27th! That's exactly TWO weeks! Sigh...mummy's Ryan's slave alone now...

But then again...there always his ever so doting ah-ma and gong gong!

Mummy 'dumped' Ryan with them and went for her facial in the morning and then in the evening, gong gong wanted to head to Suntec for some shopping so I drove us all there.

Slurp...we had Gelare's waffles for supper and it was uuuhhhhhmmmmm....SUPERB! Would have been much better if it was a Tue since it would have been half price! Hahahaha....Cheapskate yeah?

Headed home around 9pm and the little one fell asleep in the car...mummy dropped ah-ma and gong gong at their home was going back home alone with Ryan.

Mummy was pretty glad that the boy had already fallen asleep (so that mummy could work on some exam scripts while he was sleeping)

Whew!

Barney in school???

11th October 2007

It's a Thursday and it seems like a pretty good day because mummy doesn't have ANY classes today and tomorrow's marking day! Woohoo!

Anyway, mummy was clad in a purple top (similar to Barney) and when she got to school, it seemed like a few of her colleagues were also in the shade of purple! Hahaha....

One wacky friend decided that we ought to capture the Kodak moment and so we were idiotically posing for her hp cam after the national anthem was sung by the pathetic school population of 4 classes which were having their last paper today!

I could see one of the student councillors secretly laughing at our idiotic behaviour but.... seriously, we didn't care! We're human you know? Ahahahaha....

Take a look at the pic...

Ryan was behaving a little strangely this evening...

He insisted on getting gong gong out of his room by pulling his hand and bringing him into the kitchen! Gong-Gong kept asking him what he wanted because he wanted to concentrate on watching the movie on tv, Mars Attack...hahaha...

Anyway, being the pampering gong-gong he is, he obviously entertained the little bum!

Sigh...Rascal Ryan has gotten his way ONCE AGAIN...

Oh! Just trying to see if I can post the mickey cartoon which I have in my hp as a screensaver...Ryan loves it and never fails to eagerly point and go "Eeee...." as if saying "Look, mummy! It's Mickey!"

Peek-a-boo!

7th October 2007

It's a Sunday again...usual routine...

In the evening, we were home and mummy decided to wash the new 'Kingsize' bedsheet which she blew $150 on a set for and as I was hanging it on the clothes dryer, our dear little rascal had a really good time playing pee-a-boo around it! Hahahaha...

It was such a funny sight I must say...

Just take a look at the following pics...

Oohh... is that a tunnel???

Hhhmmm.... here goes!

Ta da! I did it mummy!

Children's Day!!!

1st October 2007

It's Children's Day today but mummy's still gotta go to school...darn! If only mummy taught in a Primary school!

Anyway, mummy and colleagues headed to Holland V for lunch at Swensens and mummy decided to get Ryan his all time favourite 'toy' as a prezzie...

Yup! A balloon...but not just a plain balloon.... how can we leave his favourite cartoon character, Mickey out?

Party City was just the place mummy needed and so she went there to hunt for a nice Mickey balloon for her precious one.

Range was pretty limited but mummy decided to make do with a white one featuring Mickey and friends...

Here it is...

Mummy kind of regretted because as she walked back to Swensens, she realised that a toy shop along the way had an even wider range of Mickey balloons! Hai! I could have gotten Ryan a red one where Mickey was featured larger...sigh!

Anyway, Ryan simply loved his balloon nonetheless! I mean, it IS Mickey you know? He loves it anyhow!

Yup, the $6.50 was well worth it!

Mmmm....chocolate!!! *Slurp*

30th September 2007

The best day of the week...Sunday and as usual, it's 'head to town' day!

Went shopping after church and mummy managed to buy a top from Topshop and daddy, a pair of golf shoes from FootJoy...

Hhhmmm...nothing for the little one except a chocolate bun from Breadtalk in the shape of a teddy bear!

Went home and daddy decided that we should have his roast chicken and fries for dinner...mummy wasn't complaining since she didn't have to lift a finger in the preparation except for peeling th potatoes...east task done in less than 5 mins!

Anyway, as we were having our dinner, Ryan was given his chocolate bun to munch on and boy was that a mistake!

Yup, he was a MESS as he happily dug out the chocolate filling from the bun! Haha! Effectively, all Ryan had was chocolate without his bun as he placed the remaining bread in the bowl and enjoyed his chocolate! Hahaha...it was such a sight! Amazing that he's capable of such an act at such a tender age!

Take a look at the rascal...

The final result....a HUGE mess! Just look at the chocolate left on his chest and tee...oh MY!!!
